Once you have decided to learn Selenium or you just want to improve your knowledge, the first problem you have is: where do I start?
If you start learning by your self, eventually you will get stuck and most definitely need some help. We all learn faster if we see some examples and a project from “head-to-toe” would be most useful to understand the process, not just pieces of code on some websites.
Well, I know just the place. Mozilla’s WebQA Automation projects. It’s open-source, so you have access to all the code written so far in Selenium RC and WebDriver, with plenty of examples from which you can learn, it has documentation on how to setup your working environment. But the best thing about Mozilla’s WebQA Selenium projects is that there’s always someone willing to help you on the #mozwebqa IRC channel.
All you have to do is to join the channel and say hi. You’ll get help in choosing a project and seting up your working environment.
See you online!
